Scheduling and Taking the Exam
FIRST TIME APPLICANTS
The Homelessness Advocate Certification examination is offered quarterly. Once your eligibility is approved, it remains valid for the upcoming testing period. However, if you are unable or choose not to take the exam during the initial testing window, you can request to reschedule for the next available exam period. To do so, you’ll need to pay a non-refundable deferral fee. Please note that you can only defer once. If you haven’t taken the exam after deferring, you’ll need to reapply and pay the required fees again.
To Schedule an Exam
Step 1: Go to Application and Testing Window Check the application dates, then Fill the Exam registration form.
Step 2: Pay your Exam Registration fee and give required information.
Step 3: After selecting your preferred exam slot, await an appointment confirmation email. This email will contain essential details such as your test date, testing time, and instructions on how to set up your profile with the exam proctoring service (if applicable). It is crucial to set up your profile with the designated proctoring service before taking the HACB exam.
Step 4: If you encounter any difficulties while scheduling your exam or if you need to update your account profile name to match your photo ID, please reach out to the support team at support@hacboard.org for assistance. They will guide you through any necessary modifications or troubleshooting steps.
Cancellation & Rescheduling
Step 1: Log into your Homelessness Advocate Certification (HACB) account on the designated platform (e.g., HACB Dashboard). For more detailed instructions, please refer to the provided guidelines.
Step 2: Click on the “Schedule” button located on your Exams dashboard to choose an exam date and time that fits your schedule.

The Homelessness Advocate Certification exam is a computer-based test (CBT) facilitated via Examity, ensuring accessibility to candidates worldwide, including those working within the realm of homelessness advocacy. Examity serves as a secure and dependable online proctoring platform, offering candidates the convenience and safety of taking the exam remotely. This setup is particularly beneficial for individuals actively engaged in homelessness advocacy, allowing them to maintain their advocacy work while pursuing certification. Before Your Exam
Before starting your Homelessness Advocate Certification exam, Follow the steps below to complete your profile setup:
